Voting Information
Absentee Ballots

General guidelines to use an absent ballot:

  • Under Ohio law, absentee voting begins twenty nine days prior to an election.
  • Voters should request an absentee ballot as early as possible in order to meet the return deadline.
  • Mail-in Applications must be received by noon on the Saturday prior to the election you wish to vote in.
  • We can not accept faxed absentee requests. They must be mailed.
  • The last day for Absentee Voting is the Monday prior to Election Day at 2:00 P.M..
  • Do not drop your Absentee Ballots off at your polling location. They will not be counted.
  • All ballots must be post marked the day before the election and received within 10 days after Election Day.

Election Day is Tuesday, May 8, 2018, and polls are open from 6:30am to 7:30pm.

Are you registered to vote at your current address? The voter registration deadline to vote in the May election is April 9, 2018. Please click on the link below to register or check/update your address with the Secretary of State: http://www.myohiovote.com

Remember to bring identification to the polls with you.

Voters must bring identification to the polls in order to vote a regular ballot on Election Day. Acceptable forms of identification are:
  • A current and valid photo identification (such as Ohio driver license card, state ID card, government ID). Photo identification must show name and current address (except that Ohio driver license or State ID card does not need to show current address if the address in the poll book is current); or
  • A military identification that shows the voter’s name (does not need to show address); or
  • A copy of a current (within the last 12 months) utility bill (including cell phone bill), bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document (including from a public college or university) that shows the voter’s name and current address.
 
Note: You cannot use as proof of identification a notice that the board of elections mailed to you.
